The Importance
There is an ideal pattern between the diameter of the candle and the burning time according to the type and thickness of the wick. It is very important that with each launch of new candles, wick tests are carried out beforehand, as there are several substances that interfere in the burning of the candle, for example:
Anilines and Pigments: they can inhibit the flame;
Fragrances: can increase or decrease the flame depending on the ingredients used;
Paraffin: can increase or decrease the flame, depending mainly on the melting point and the oil content;
Stearic Acid: candles made of vegetable stearic acid greatly inhibit the flame, running the risk of the candle extinguishing. Increases the rigidity and opacity of the candles. Used throughout Latin America.
Polyethylene: increases the hardness and brightness of the candle but its presence reduces burning;
Vybar: also increases hardness and shine but reduces burning.
